Erin Friday is an American lawyer and anti-transgender extremist. Friday is affiliated with anti-trans group Our Duty.
Friday wants to abolish all transgender healthcare for people of any age, but Friday is most focused on banning all trans healthcare for people under age 26.
Background
Clare Erin Brenan was born on March 15, 1967 and was a “tomboy” growing up. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University in 1989 and a law degree from Villanova University in 1994, Brenan was admitted to the California Bar in 1997.
Friday married Richard Andrew “Rick” Friday (born May 1971), a commercial real estate executive at CBRE.
Anti-transgender activism
Friday has a creative and gender diverse child born in ~2008. According to Friday, after “sex education in public school,” this child began identifying as pansexual, then nonbinary, then transmasculine around 2020. In response, Friday quit working and started a multi-year campaign to isolate the child from peers and others who were supportive or affirming. At one point Friday’s child ran away. Friday restricted the child from the internet and prevented peers from secretly providing an old phone to their child. Friday pulled the child out of Central Middle School in San Carlos, California and sent the child to live with out-of-state relatives. After that, Friday said, “I sent her to camps where she would have to do physical work all day long.” According to Friday, the child “desisted” in early 2022.
Friday was doing anti-trans activism for 18 months under a pseudonym until 2022. Friday teamed up with British anti-trans extremist Keith Jordan (aka “DadRogd”) of Our Duty to attack legislation supporting reproductive freedom, bodily autonomy, and gender affirming healthcare.
Friday told anti-trans activist Benjamin Boyce about their efforts to use legal attacks to end trans healthcare:
I want the lawsuits to happen. I am collecting the attorneys who are filing these lawsuits. I am looking for the plaintiffs who want to file these lawsuits. Nobody’s going to get a free pass. I don’t want anybody to get a free pass, I’m sorry. Parents are not a forgiving group when it comes to harms to their children. And anybody who is in that line of indoctrination has their head on the chopping block. I mean, I want them to. The advocacy groups, they’re not going to get a hall pass on this. The teachers who turned a blind eye? No. No. Uh-uh. The pediatricians who just passed them on to the gender clinic? We’re not forgiving people.

Friday’s all-consuming rage about the existence of transgender people is best exemplified by listening to the audio of a 2023 episode of Dr. Drew:
“I ignored every medical professional. I had to. […] I don’t take my child to a pediatrician anymore because I don’t trust the medical community. I don’t trust teachers anymore. They changed my daughter’s name.”

Friday talks a lot about autism, but it’s not clear if Friday has ever personally sought out an adult autism evaluation. Friday accuses others of obsession and black-and-white thinking, but the accusations feel at times like confessions.
