Allison Bailey is a British lawyer, sex segregationist, and anti-transgender activist. Bailey co-founded the anti-trans LGB Alliance in 2019.
Background
Allison Elaine Bailey was born in 1970 in Cowley, Oxfordshire to Jamaican parents. She earned an undergraduate degree at University of Manchester and was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a barrister by Middle Temple in 2001.
2019 open letter
Bailey helped found LGB Alliance after an open letter appeared in the Times protesting the LGBT organization Stonewall. The signers claimed that Stonewall’s trans-inclusive views
undermine women’s sex-based rights and protections. The most worrying aspect of this is that all primary-school children are now challenged to review their “gender identity” and decide that they may be the opposite sex if they do not embrace outdated gender stereotypes.
They claimed a new trans-exclusionary organization was needed with policies based on “fact instead of fantasy.”
