Sarah Phillimore is a barrister and anti-transgender activist. Phillimore is associated with anti-trans groups Genspect and Fair Cop.
Background
Sarah V. Phillimore is family law barrister who has practiced in St John’s Chambers, Bristol.
Anti-transgender activism
Phillimore said, “Since 2018 I have joined the discussion on line and in real life about sex, gender and how we identify. […] I am particularly concerned about the risk of harm to children who are encouraged to ‘transition’ at an early age.
In June 2020, a Twitter user posted that Phillimore’s tweets had led to a “record for life.” Wiltshire Police confirmed that twelve pages of Phillimore’s tweets had been recorded as transphobic and religiously aggravated “non-crime hate incidents.” Phillimore fought the finding.
Phillimore is a co-founder of Fair Cop, “a group of gender critical lawyers, police officers, writers & professionals dedicated to upholding Articles 8-11 ECHR & removing politics from policing.”
