Kathleen Dooley Breslin is an American lawyer and anti-transgender activist. Dooley is associated with anti-trans groups Genspect and Rethink Identity Medicine Ethics.
Background
Kathleen H. Dooley was born on September 1959 and grew up in New Jersey, graduating from Marylawn of the Oranges in 1977. Dooley then attended Seton Hall, earning a bachelor’s degree 1981 and a law degree in 1988.
Dooley has practiced commercial litigation at Drinker Biddle & Reath, Helms Mulliss & Wicker, and McGuireWoods. Dooley has been involved in the Charlotte Women’s Bar and Great Careers Groups & BENG.
Dooley is married to Robert Emmett “Bob” Breslin (born 1959), an executive at Mergent. They have two children, including Furman University student Caroline Breslin (born 2004) and a gender diverse child.
Anti-transgender activism
Dooley was one of several parents of gender-diverse children who were critical of Stephen Hammes, president of the Endocrine Society, after Hammes responded to criticism about gender affirming care in the Wall Street Journal, written by Roy Eappen and Ian Kingsbury from anti-trans group Do No Harm
