Az Hakeem is a Welsh psychiatrist and anti-transgender activist. Hakeem is an advisor to anti-trans group Genspect.
Background
Hakeem was born in North Wales and attended Rydal School. Hakeem got a medical degree at UCL, then specialized in psychiatry.
From 2000 to 2012 Hakeem worked at Camden & Islington and at The Portman Clinic. Hakeem later went into private practice
Hakeem was a founder of the Shaw Mind Foundation in 2017. Hakeem frequently appears in the media to discuss psychiatry.
Anti-transgender activism
Hakeem’s book TRANS was published by Trigger Press in 2017. Hakeem frequently appears in anti-trans media with other anti-trans activists, including Gender: A Wider Lens , LGB Alliance, Arty Morty, Michael Biggs, GB News, etc.
