Rebecca Allison and transgender people

Rebecca Anne “Becky” Allison (born December 21, 1946) is an American cardiologist who created one of the earliest and most important online resources for transgender medical information.

She served in leadership roles at GLMA and AMA. She served as their chief of cardiology at Cigna based in Arizona from 1998 to 2012. She then went into private practice before retiring from medical practice in 2018.

Activism

In 1998, Allison created drbecky.com, a resource site focusing on the medical, legal, and spiritual aspects of gender transition. Among her innovations were a state-by-state listing on how ton update a birth certificate, criticism of The Man Who Would Be Queen by J. Michael Bailey, and a section on spirituality. Allison is also active in Soulforce and Phoenix Transgender Day of Remembrance.
