Inga Thompson vs. transgender people

Inga Thompson is an American road bicycle racer and anti-transgender activist. Thompson is sex segregationist and an opponent of transgender athletes in sex-segregated competitive sports.

Background

Kristin Inga Thompson was born January 27, 1964.

Thompson competed from 1984 to 1993. Some events were raced under the names Inga Benedict and Inga Thompson-Benedict.

Thompson was inducted into the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame in 2014.

Anti-transgender activism

Thompson is involved in anti-trans group Save Women’s Sports. In response to participation by trans athlete Rachel McKinnon in 2018, Thompson began working to rescind the 2015 International Olympic Committee transgender eligibility guidelines.
