Bion Bartning is an American entrepreneur and anti-transgender activist. Bartning is founder of Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism (FAIR), which supports many key figures in global anti-trans activism.

Background

Bion Curtis Bartning was born in August of 1972. Bartning .earned a bachelor’s degree from Occidental College in 1995, then earned an master’s degreee from Columbia Business School in 2002. Bartning was a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton from 1998 to 2000, then joined A,erican Express from 2002 to 2005. Bartning returned to Booz Allen Hamilton as engagement manager from 2005 to 2007, the served as managine partner of The Kind Group from 2006 to 2008. Bartning, who claims to have Jewish, Mexican, and Indigenous Yaqui ancestry, and whose children are mixed-race, lives in Miami with spouse Marina Bartning (aka Marina Greene, born May 1974), a venture capitalist at BlackRock, Varagon, and Searchilight. They have two children, Olivia “Liv” Bartning (born 2001) and Asher Bartning, who is involved in sailing and swimming. In 2002, Bartning’s stated this spouse “is from a small Ukrainian town that they “left behind when they immigrated to North America as refugees from the USSR over 40 years ago.”

Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism

Bartning founded Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism in 2021. Bartning was upset that teachers had introduced Bartning’s children to concepts associated with postmodernism, critical race theory, and intersectionality.

FAIR later expanded its mission to attack the rights of sex and gender minorities, primarily through its division FAIR in Medicine.
